Last updated: 2026-08-31 · These Terms apply to the location features of JOLIMITALK under the Korean Act on the Protection, Use, etc. of Location Information. Matters not covered by these Terms follow the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
Article 1 (Purpose and Scope)
These Terms set out the conditions for using the location-based services that JOLIVERSE (the "Company") provides using personal location information, and matters concerning the protection of personal location information. All location features operate only when the user chooses to use them at that time, and we do not track location in the background.
Article 2 (Description of Services)
- The location sharing feature delivers and displays, as a message to the chat partner, the current location (coordinates, address) that the user chooses to send in a chat.
- The weather and nearby guidance feature uses an approximate, neighborhood-level location that the user has consented to, in order to provide information on the weather and nearby places in conversations with Jolimi.
Article 3 (Use and Retention of Personal Location Information)
- Coordinates sent through location sharing are stored as part of the message and follow the same retention policy as ordinary messages (anonymized on withdrawal; originals stored separately for 1 year and then destroyed).
- The approximate location for weather and nearby guidance is used to create that guidance and is deleted 30 days after it was last used. If you turn off location use, it is deleted immediately (precise coordinates are not collected).
- Records confirming the use and provision of location information are recorded and retained in accordance with the law.
Article 4 (Provision to Third Parties)
Location sharing messages are displayed only to the chat partners designated by the user (the members of the room). The Company does not provide personal location information to any other third party, with the sole exception of requests made through procedures set out by law. If provision to a third party newly becomes necessary, we will notify the user and obtain consent each time.
Article 5 (Rights of Users and Legal Guardians)
- Users may stop using location features or withdraw consent at any time (including by turning off the device's location permission).
- Location messages that have been sent can be deleted in accordance with the message deletion rules.
- Users may request access to, and notice of, the records confirming use and provision, and may request correction of errors.
- Location information of children under 14 is processed only with the consent of a legal guardian.
- A person with a duty of protection for a child aged 8 or under, or similar persons, may consent to the use of location information on that person's behalf, as if it were the person's own consent, under Article 26 of the Act.
Article 6 (Location Information Manager and Compensation for Damages)

If the Company violates the Location Information Act and causes damage to a user, the user may claim compensation for damages, and the Company cannot be exempted from liability unless it proves that there was no intent or negligence. For disputes, users may apply for a ruling by the Korea Media and Communications Commission or for mediation by the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.
